Thanks to Elizabeth and all the ensemble who put their hearts and souls into the tones that washed the walls… The “surround sound” from behind our seats in the balcony sent shivers up and down my spine, and I felt nourished by the solo and multiple voice renderings that reverberated the very flesh and bones of St. Andrews’ Presbyterian Church that day.

An experience with Ensemble Laude is unforgettable. Perfect tonality, pitch… rich exotic harmonies… laden with the romance and mystery of a medieval monastery. This, with the embellishment of authentic instruments of the time played with precision and passion create a heady, intoxicating potion of sound. Small wonder they have been voted Monday Magazine’s ‘favourite vocal ensemble’ twice in a row!

MacIsaac does wonders with her amateur singers… The instruments were often the garnish that made the performances so delicious… Some of the big ensemble pieces gave the impression of a medieval festival…
