Ensemble Laude is delighted to support emerging choral artists through our Choral Conductor Training Program.

Building on the established Emerging Artist program, the Ensemble Laude Choral Conductor Training Program (CCTP) offers training to aspiring singers and emerging conductors interested in attaining the skills and experience needed to lead a choral ensemble.

The CCTP admits up to 4 choral singers / emerging conductors each year in three categories, according to experience: Emerging Artists; Conducting Fellows; and Senior Conducting Fellows.

These categories recognize the different starting points from which many aspiring choral conductors begin, whether their skills are in music education, as singer-performers, or as choral artists.

Conductors on the CCTP attend a weekly bespoke structured training program with Artistic Director Kathryn Whitney during the singing season. They gain practical experience through leadership training in sectionals, vocal technique, and choral repertoire and management. Fellows also have valuable podium time with Ensemble Laude.

Graduates of the program are well-placed to apply for their first jobs as choral directors.
