It’s getting closer!
All the dreaming, research and organization of a thousand tasks is coming together to make Ensemble Laude’s first international tour a reality. To go on such an incredible trip with a group of women who all share the same passion for singing is a great gift.
I have always wanted to go to France. Especially southern France. Especially Provence. And now, through the amazing vision and teamwork of Ensemble Laude, it’s really happening. I knew I picked a good choir.
On a daily basis, I find myself poring over maps, reading travel tips, researching the history of cities, even reading novels set in the locations we’ll be visiting! My knowledge of the south of France is growing exponentially. I’m reviving French language skills that have lain dormant for years.
This feeling of stretching oneself, trying and learning new things is truly what they mean by joie de vivre! Now imagine this multiplied by the 37 people travelling in our group. We’re all putting our own spin on the trip: arriving early or late, travelling to other parts of Europe before or after, focussing on different aspects of the experience. What is clearly true for all of us is that, with the encouragement and support of the group, we are embarking on a journey we could never have imagined just a few short months ago.
So, this is what it feels like when you get to plan and go on the trip of a lifetime. It’s like a happy dream, and a great reminder about living life to the fullest wherever you may be.
And who knows what the future holds – I did say this is Ensemble Laude’s FIRST international tour, after all.
